The best thing about having your own space, whether its bringing in a marquee or transforming a location, is it gives you complete flexibility on how you use your internal and external space. At Event Marquees we can give you some creative ideas (with or without a marquee) that you may not have thought was possible!
Read on for some inventive ideas that can make your next event stand out...
Make a Dedicated Outdoor Space
In this example we were asked to create a separate outdoor lounge space that would be used throughout the event for pre-drinks, and then a lounge zone for those not wanting to dance.
This was achieved with our high gloss wooden flooring, with white ottomans and lounges for those wanting to sit, and high bar tables for those standing and enjoying a drink. Nestled amongst the natural green environment, it looked stunning and provided a true wow factor.
Note that this was created on an uneven surface - however this is not an issue for our experienced Event Marquees team. We were able to make a completely flat surface over the natural slope.
Dual Marquee, Double Function.
Event Marquees assisted the Roads and Maritime Services of NSW with their Centenary of the ANZAC Obelisk.
Their events team requested we provide the best layout for their brief. This included:
-
Suitable space for the dual purpose of hosting their official ceremony and buffet lunch
-
Weatherproof - rain and sun
-
Comfortable for cool or warm
-
High heel proof - vital to the guest list!
We recommended and supplied a dual marquee that we then created two distinct spaces - while providing continuity between the two parts of the event. The dual marquee apex provided an appealing visual division between the formal ceremony and the more casual lunch.
The ceremony side featured a stage, AV and ample seating for the guests. The marquee had no internal walls so that once the ceremony was completed the guests moved easily to the second pavillion for their buffet lunch.
The Marquee had complete flexibility with its internal and external walls. This meant that whatever the weather conditions, the marquee could be opened or closed to ensure complete comfort. On the day most walls were open to allow for maximum airflow, which proved to be vital, as the April day proved to warm for the time of year.
Perfect Flow from Indoor to Outdoor
We love creating spaces that are perfect for how our clients want the function to flow throughout the entire event. It doesn’t just have to be all tables and chairs!
For this example - our clients were keen for an outdoor area that worked for pre-drinks, and for somewhere to cool down in-between dancing ( their band was a key part of their wedding - there would be lots of dancing!), as well as a more chilled zone for those few not dancing.
We utilised a large, long clear marquee and set up four zones - that allowed for best flow of guests as the event progressed.
-
Outdoor Zone - featuring wine barrel bar and tables, for pre-drinks in the twilight.
-
Dancefloor - Large Dancefloor that opened to the outdoor so it didn't get too hot with all that dancing!
-
Sit-down dinner zone - centrally located, after dinner guests could go to dance floor, outside or chill out zone.
-
Chill Out Zone - located to the rear of the long marquee it provided a comfy space for sit, relax and talk without being too noisy being furthest away from the band
